Lettuce

Just a note about the lettuce that you have been enjoying in your CSA bags… We are growing several varieties here at Springdale Farm, and as they become available, we will offer you different types to try.  For the most part, these are not lettuces that you can buy at your supermarket.  Most supermarket foods must be sturdy enough to travel long miles to get to you.  (yet another reason why eating local is better!)  But here, these delicate, tender lettuces are true Farm-to-Table items, and the ultimate Fast Food:  Just add your favorite veggies or left over meat, toss a bit of oil and vinegar, some crystalized salt… enjoy!
